Guy Rocher

Guy Rocher is a Canadian sociologist and academic, born on December 19, 1924 in Montreal. He is recognized for his significant contribution to sociological studies in Quebec and for his commitment to the development of public policies. Rocher played a key role in the Quiet Revolution, a period during which he influenced social and political thought in Quebec. He obtained his doctorate in sociology from the Université de Montréal and was a professor at several institutions, including the Université de Montréal and Université Laval (Quebec). His work focuses primarily on issues of identity, culture and social change. Rocher is also the author of several books and academic articles that have left their mark on the field of social sciences.
